Craphound

So, now that I've got this Joey Fatone Marionette, I'm wondering what I should actually do with it. Keep it in the box and assume that it'll become valuable? Nahhh. I'm taking that baby out and putting it prominently on display next to my "vintage" Michael Jackson doll.

It's funny how the things I buy or receive as a joke end up becoming conversation pieces. My home is a testament to this. I've always had a nose for crap culture, and the fact that I'm the biggest packrat this side of the Mississippi also explains why my house is more museum than domicile.

My bandmate and fellow craphound Dave and I are always trying to guess what the Next Big Find will be, thrift-store-wise. To that end, Dave's been piling up on 80's jeans: pinstriped, two-toned, patterned...forget looking for 70's kitsch; you can buy the repro stuff just about anywhere. 80's stuff is the stuff to find, and even that's becoming stale as more and more people start feeling nostalgic about the goddamn early 90's, for God's sake. So I guess what I really need to be looking for are big-assed M.C. Hammer pants and Spuds McKenzie t-shirts.

And then, too, I think it's never too early to fish around for good, quality Crap. No matter that Jesse Camp was just a mere blip on the Fame Radar Screen; I bought his CD stupid cheap at a sidewalk sale last weekend, and I intend to enjoy it.
