Absolut and Tang
I'm afraid I can't come up with a more linear entry for you all to follow today, so I decided to keep it random:
- Do you ever wake up in the morning with the vague, unsettling feeling that all your friends hate you? I find it dissipates after the first cup of coffee and resultant trip to the loo. Still, it's never a pleasant feeling, and I find that whenever I wake up with it, it tends to directly correlate with having had a dream about being back in junior high.
- I was over at Paula & Aaron's for their swanky New Year's "Space Odyssey" party. There I was, visibly lusting after their deliciously comprehensive collection of Jim Nabors albums, and as I cornered Aaron in the hallway to further pledge my undying loyalty to the both of them because of this most wholesome-yet-somehow-decadent accumulation of Jim Nabors-ness, the conversation turned to the Merging of One's Music Collection with that of One's Significant Other. Not an easy task among our perverse band of vinyl junkies, and I admitted to being the one who spent the better part of a weekend consolidating, organizing and alphabetizing my and Kev's collections: "It's tough, man, you know, because where do you file the Molly Hatchet? Under M or under H?"
Aaron looked at me for a moment, then quietly replied, "That's easy, Lees; you don't file the Molly Hatchet. You throw the Molly Hatchet out."
Then he walked away to freshen his Absolut-and-Tang.
- We own Molly Hatchet albums on vinyl. But it's okay, because we also have Claudine Longet albums on vinyl, too. I apologize for nothing.
