Merry Christmas Darling - The Carpenters
What Child is This?/The Holly and the Ivy - Bing (1968, I believe)
Ain't no Hole in the Washtub - Ma and Emmet Otter
Buffalo Gals - George Bailey & Mary Hatch
and of course!

I actually can't do the Elvis version of "Blue Christmas," out of respect for my Ma, who to this day is still traumatized by a night out at a bar where the jukebox was STUCK on that song for, like, hours. She tells the story with a tinge of revulsion which makes me not want to listen to it ever again, either.
The Paula Kelley version of it is nice, though, and not just because I sing on it.

i was regaled by grocery store muzak, yeasterday.. in particular, Paul McCartney's airhead dreck. i thought i was going to hurl an hour later. related?
James Brown's "Let's Make Christmas Mean Something This Year" is flat out testifying.
los Straitjackect's "Marshmallow World" is quite twang-i-licious.
and lastly... why am i not surprised that you included Root Boy Slim? (i went to his "Punk Prom" in a Goodwill tux, and got to shake his hand when he admired my "get up".
anointed by the Duke of Puke.
my legacy.

I've always found the Crosby/Bowie duet oddly fascinating and a bit unsettling...

...oh, and Merle Haggard's "If We Make It Through December", if you need that bummer-Christmas feeling to take the edge off.

Don't forget that cheeseball classic, "Feed the World", o-lady o' the 80s.

Spooney stole my song. I don't believe he would know that song if it weren't for my 70s-tastic musical taste.
Oh, and you know the only reason that Paul McCartney made that crap song is because John Lennon had that huge Xmas song.

Oh, and please consider Nancy Wilson's "That's What I Want for Christmas."
