Dumb as a box of rocks.

Foot Foot is, we're guessing, about 10 months old now. She graduated to "big girl" crunchies this week, which she is consuming with gusto. Her appetite is good, and she seems happy and healthy.

But we're coming to terms with some cold, hard facts about Foot Foot.

She's wicked stupid. And she's crazy.

She's that combination of stupid and crazy that would be downright dangerous if we were dealing with, say, a 300 lb adult male. As it stands, we're struggling enough with this 6 lb kitten.

I captured, with my cellphone, what I believe to be the moment, each evening, when Foot Foot goes completely ballistic, flying around the house like she's being pursued by the Eugenics Movement.

I mean, she's doing the best she can with the cards she has been dealt. Foot Foot, after all, hails from a colony of ferals, with a very muddied bloodline at best. There's more inbreeding than the Hapsburgs. She's lucky she's not walking around with her lower jaw scraping the ground.

We see several members of her family out and about in our neighborhood. One of them I've taken to calling "Uncle Dumbfuck." He's a big ol' white-and-black, dirty, and cross-eyed dude. This morning we observed him backing up like a cement mixer and spraying our fence, like: "This MY fenz. U no can pee here."

And I looked over at Foot Foot, who was squatting in front of the stove where she'd once again batted one of her milk caps, peering under it as if it was going to come running back out, and I thought, "Well, at least you had enough sense to be rescued."

In my experience, when cats start racing around the room for no reason, it's because they just took a giant dump in the litter box.

Try living with THREE Foot Foots! It's three times the cute AND three times the insanity.

Vikki's comment made me laugh out loud! But I agree with her. We had 5 cats in a tiny Allston apartment for about...10 years. When we finally moved, we found milk lid rings behind EVERYTHING. I think we even found some when we unpacked down here in Texas. I love Foot Foot.
